Who we are

Exotic Aquarium & Pets is a proudly South African brand with over 30 years of hands-on expertise in the exotic pet industry. The business began in a backyard, where our founder, Adam Scott, built his first fish tanks and reptile enclosures by hand for his small pet store. As demand grew, the backyard workshop became a dedicated factory.

From supplying local businesses, we grew to service pet stores and pet superstores across the country, and we still supply many stores wholesale. Today we are still privately owned and still built on the same values: passion, quality and the love of exotic pets.

Our factory and custom tanks

  • We build at our own factory in Gauteng. It produces aquariums, reptile enclosures, terrariums and spider tanks, including our Black Diamond aquariums and Reptile Resort enclosures.
  • Our custom build division makes one-of-a-kind tanks and enclosures for private homes, commercial spaces and pet stores nationwide, and works with architects and designers on residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
  • We are known for building some of the biggest free-standing aquariums in South Africa, and we have built very large aquariums inside people's homes.
  • Some of our bespoke builds have gone to international destinations like Dubai.
